Christmas Giving
Hello students!!

On Friday we had a bit of a discussion about two of my favorite quotations:

  • "We can do no great things only small things with great love" (Mother Teresa).
  • "Be the change you want to see in the world" (Mahatma Gandhi).

Out of this we agreed that over the next two weeks we're going to pool our funds to buy a gift (or more!) for someone in the world who needs it but can't afford it otherwise.

We are doing this through World Vision's gift catalogue. If you want to start getting some ideas, feel free to check out the gifts on the website for yourself. At the end of the two weeks, we will see how much money we have and vote on which gifts we will purchase.

Remember, your gifts will be given silently into a bag that we will pass around the room at the beginning of every class. This is because we all come from different circumstances and each of us may not be able to contribute the same amount, but we can all give something and every little bit counts. It will be a collective effort. And don't forget, I will match every dollar you contribute, so if you do the math...

Feel free to leave a comment with an idea for your classmates as to how you can save up a few dollars.

Happy giving!
