Wednesday December 5th
I was picked to be the scribe for today in Math
Today in math we learned about Pedmas and Substitution

-When you're given a substitution question, first expand and simplify the polynomial as much as possible and then substitute at the very end.

Ex 1. x=5 and y = -2

2(2x + 3y) + 3(-3x + 2x) - (2x - 2y)
P :2(2x + 3y) + 3(-x) - (2x - 2y) : We only add like terms
E : No exponents
D : No division
M : 4x + 6y + -3x - 2x - 2y
A : -x + 8y
S : No subtraction

Now lets substitute : -x + 8y
= -(5) + 8(-2) : x becomes 5, y becomes -2
= -5 + (-16)
= -21

Other than taking notes on pedmas and Substitution, we got a new worksheet called "Polynomials using substitution" which is worksheet on the stuff we learned that class.

    Thanks Kevin!

Your work is organized and spaced very well- it is easy to read and to follow the different steps.

How do you think you could have used color to enhance your work??

Well done and great work with the PEDMAS!!
